For the purpose of locating him, she ran to her neighbors and inquired as to whether or not they had seen Jermaine somewhere. Following the confirmation that no one had witnessed him returning home, Maureen made a call to the authorities. Immediately following the arrival of the police, they questioned her and eventually went on to search for Jermaine. The first thing they did was follow the path that he had taken, but they did not find anything that was particularly noteworthy.

Maureen joined the police and her neighbors in their hunt for her son. She was also looking for him. A week ended up becoming a month, and then a month turned into a year. During the course of Maureen’s hunt for Jermaine, she discovered no sign of him. She knew that he was a smart lad and that he would never get into a car with a stranger. It was something that Mom had always cautioned him against doing.
