Taking The Bus
Jermaine, her son, was just ten years old when he vanished. His disappearance occurred at that time. Maureen recalled that day as if it had just occurred to her an hour ago. However, this was the only instance in which she felt regret for not enabling Jermaine to take the bus home. With Maureen serving as a teacher at Jermaine’s school, the two of them frequently traveled back together.
Fateful Day
In light of the fact that she was scheduled to participate in a school workshop on that fateful day, Jermaine did not wish to wait for her. It was his assertion that he was a mature young man who was capable of walking home by himself. After she returned home from the workshop, she discovered that Jermaine was nowhere to be found.
