The veterinarian emerged from the rear room of the clinic. However, he did not have the little white creature he had been carrying with him. When he placed his hand on Jonathan’s shoulder and said, “I know it’s not your fault, but you made a tremendous mistake…” he had a worried expression on his face. Jonathan was confused.

As Jonathan listened to the veterinarian begin to explain himself, his mouth fell. It was only natural for him to want to assist such a helpless creature. On the other hand, he ought to have simply ignored it. The question is, what type of wild creature did Jonathan “rescue” from the woods and what would he have gained by doing that instead of simply leaving it there by itself?
