The Strange Stash
Sam did not allow himself to become eager about this next suitcase. After all, he had been let down one too many times. He was also starting to feel that his nerves needed some time off – this was all becoming too much for the old man. Regardless, he carried the suitcase down to the usual unpacking spot in the dining room. When his wife came home, they opened the suitcase like so many times before. Their dull expressions suddenly lit up when they saw that this suitcase did, in fact, contain money.

While Sam had felt that someone would only hide something in a secret room, behind a secret door, unless they were certain that it was too valuable to risk being found. Despite that glimpse of potential winnings, he had not gotten his hopes up. When he and Mary opened the suitcase, however, they ate their words. This sizeable suitcase was charged with a ton of money – nearly $45,000, in fact! They knew that things couldn’t end there.
