It hasn’t gone off yet, but we expect it will if the boat ever travels to Middle Earth or another perilous mythical place. Then that name will come in very helpful. We were told that this name is Dutch, and we tried to find out whether it meant anything else in its native language, but we couldn’t uncover anything conclusive. It appears to be an album by the band Magma, however we will go out on a limb and presume that this yacht is not named after a Magma album. We suppose it is feasible, though. There aren’t many other reasons that come to mind save that and a warning about marauding warriors.

The term “boomer” refers to a generation that emerged immediately following World War II, when all of the troops returned home and started large kids, resulting in a baby boom. The generation is gradually becoming one of the oldest ones, and the name of the generation has become a slur among those who are younger. Perhaps you recall the week or so when the phrase “OK boomer” resulted in someone being embarrassed. It passed disappeared soon, although some people liked the idea. Maybe there’s a deeper explanation why this person named his or her yacht “Boomer,” but we doubt we’ll be able to figure it out. Maybe it has to do with explosives. Maybe this person was just trying hard to come up with a distinctive name, and the first place they looked was social media.
